March 18- Spirit of Innovation
The Spirit of Innovation provided aerial coverage for ESPN during Sunday night's Magic/Heat contest. With the game beginning at 7 pm, the SOI was able to see South Florida in a number of different lights.
Out of the Hangar- January 18
The Spirit of Innovation took to the skies after a two-week hangar period for a test flight on Jan. 18. After a successful run, the SOI will be visible in the South Florida skies on Friday (passenger operations) and Saturday (a Miami Heat game).
SOI - Bound for Bristol
The Spirit of Innovation headed to [Gadsden, Ala.] on Tuesday, with the ultimate goal of Bristol, Tenn., for this weekend's NASCAR races. With Hurricane Irene looming large in the SOI's travel plans, it's possible the SOI will reroute to a different location.
SOI - Tennessee to Akron
The Spirit of Innovation made its way through Tennessee and continued North towards Akron, Ohio, arriving Monday afternoon. The SOI crew will cut a test patch and complete other maintenance over the course of the next week.
SOI - Trip to Downtown Miami
On Thursday, Nov. 4, the Spirit of Innovation blocked out a night to grab footage of South Florida hot spots for networks' future use. The trip started during dusk and extended into the night
Santa Catalina Island
Just 26 miles across the sea from Los Angeles lies Catalina Island. This short but spectacularly beautiful flight proved irresistible to the Spirit of America's Assistant Pilot in Charge Kristen Davis, who captured these shots last week while breaking in and checking out the ship's new engine.

Spirit of Innovation- January 2012 Hangar Period
With the calendar switching over to 2012, the Spirit of Innovation was put into its first of two annual hangar periods on January 5.
Spirit of Innovation- Toys for Tots
The Pompano Beach, Fla., Goodyear Blimp base is hosting a Toys for Tots drive on Saturday, Dec. 10 and Sunday Dec. 11 (9 am to 5 pm). Participants are able to get an up-close and personal view of the Spirit of Innovation and possibly win a blimp ride on the 192-foot long airship.
The SOA Supports Our Troops in Grand Style
On Friday, Dec. 2, the Spirit of America and her crew learned first-hand what having the "right stuff" is all about, from 20 US Marines who have been awarded numerous medals for bravery, including a Purple Heart, Silver Stars and Vs for Valor. It was our honor and privilege to be able to show these brave men how deeply America appreciates their service. Semper Fi!
